Instant Pot Parmesan Rice and Peas
Pressure Cooker Parmesan Basmati Rice and Peas is quick and easy to make in the Instant Pot and so tasty and cheesy! It's a simple side dish that's sure to be a family favorite.
Servings 6 servings
- 2 cups Basmati rice
- 3 cups water or broth
- 1 cup frozen green peas
- 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese, shredded
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
In the Instant Pot, place the rice and green peas.
Add 3 cups of water, salt, and pepper.
Close the lid and set the valve to the SEALING position. Pressure cook on HIGH pressure for 4 minutes.
When cooking time is finished, do a 10-minute NATURAL RELEASE. Then turn the steam floating valve on the lid to the VENTING position to release the remaining pressure manually. Carefully open lid.
With a fork, fluff the rice and stir in the Parmesan cheese.
Transfer to serving platter or bowl and garnish with additional Parmesan cheese, if desired.
