Air Fryer Sweet chili Salmon is easy to make with only five ingredients and in 10 minutes. This Thai-inspired fish is moist, tender, and full of sweet and savory flavors the whole family will love.

Air Fryer Sweet Chili Salmon

This Air Fryer salmon is a recipe you need in your back pocket, especially for busy weeknights. It’s so easy to make; your air fryer does the heavy lifting and cooks the salmon perfectly every time.

You’d be amazed at how juicy and tasty the fish turns out with only 5 ingredients and less than 10 minutes of cook time. It delivers tons of flavor that are sure to rock dinner time!

Ingredients

  • Salmon fillets-cut into uniform thickness and weight to ensure even cooking
  • Freshly cracked pepper- for an extra punch of heat
  • Sweet chili sauce– I used a Thai brand called Mae Ploy which has the right balance of sweet and spicy in my opinion; if you’d like to control the sweetness, try the Heinz Chili sauce and add brown sugar or honey to your liking.
  • Soy sauce-balances the sweetness with umami flavor
  • Green onions and sesame seeds-optional for garnishing

Helpful tips

  • When buying salmon fillets, ask the fishmonger for the center cut as they’re mostly uniform in thickness and will cook more evenly.
  • This recipe was developed using fresh fillets.  If using frozen, make sure the fish is fully thawed for the best results.
  • Pat the fillets dry with paper towels to ensure the basting sauce adheres well.
  • For an extra boost of flavor, switch the salt with lemon pepper seasoning or add a teaspoon of sesame oil to the basting sauce.

How to serve and store

  • Serve this Air fryer Thai-inspired salmon for lunch or dinner with steamed rice, mashed potatoes, or quinoa and a vegetable side dish such as sauteed spinach or bok choy.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container or resealable bags and refrigerate for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat in a preheated 360 F air fryer for about 2 to 3 minutes or until warmed through. Or serve cold as topping for green salads or as filling for tortilla wraps and pita pockets.

Air Fryer Sweet Chili Salmon

Air Fryer Thai Salmon with sweet chili glaze is easy to make yet delivers tons of flavors that are sure to rock dinner time. With only 5 ingredients and less than 10 minutes cook time, it's perfect for busy weeknights!

Ingredients

  • 4 (6 ounces each) salmon fillets
  • 1/2 cup sweet chili sauce (Mae Ploy)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly cracked pepper
  • green onions, optional
  • sesame seeds, optional

Instructions

  • Pat dry the salmon fillets with a paper towel and remove any stray bones.
  • Season with pepper to taste.
  • In a bowl, combine sweet chili sauce and soy sauce. 
  • Generously baste the tops and sides of the salmon fillets with the glaze and marinate in the refrigerator for about 20 to 30 minutes.
  • Lightly grease the air fryer basket and arrange the salmon in a single layer.
  • Cook in a preheated 400 F air fryer for about 7 to 8 minutes depending on thickness.
  • .Remove from air fryer and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds, if desired. Serve hot.
