I love using my air fryer to make dinner because it’s quick and easy but doesn’t skimp on the flavor. This easy air fryer chicken recipe is perfect for busy weeknights when you don’t have time or energy for a complicated meal.

Quickly toss the thighs and seasonings, sit back, and let the air fryer do all the work. They’re ready in minutes yet taste like you slaved in the kitchen all afternoon. So juicy and flavorful!

No running around town for ingredients! All you need for this recipe are simple pantry staples you probably already have.

What you’ll need

  • Chicken– the recipe uses boneless, skinless thighs for ease and convenience. Feel free to swap with bone-in or chicken breasts and adjust the cooking time.
  • Olive oil– keeps the chicken juicy and helps the spices stick.
  • Garlic– fresh is best, but you can substitute garlic powder in a pinch
  • Parmesan cheese– adds a savory, umami flavor and crunch
  • Salt and pepper– season to taste

Tips for success

  • Arrange the thighs in a single layer and do not overcrowd the air fryer to ensure even cooking. Cook in batches as needed.
  • As cooking times may vary depending on air fryer brands and models or the size of the chicken, use a food thermometer to properly gauge doneness. Insert the probe into the thickest part of the chicken; it should read 165 F.

Serving suggestions

  • These air-fried chicken thighs make a hearty, tasty main dish for lunch or dinner, paired with rice, potatoes, and vegetables.
  • They’re great as a protein addition to salads, pasta, or rice bowls. You can also chop them up and use them as a filling for tacos or burritos.

Storage and reheating instructions

  • Store in a container with a tight-fitting lid and refrigerate for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
  • Reheat in a 380 F oven air fryer for about 4 to 5 minutes or in the microwave at 1 to 2-minute intervals to an internal temperature of 165 F.
